A few pictures of the girls...

Hi everyone! It's Amy again lol. I know you are waiting for Kami but I have a feeling she won't be able to post until she gets out of the hospital. I spoke with Kami twice today and she sounds great. She had the girls sleep in the nursery last night so she could get some much needed rest. She's is suppose to be released sometime on Thursday, although she thinks it won't be until the late afternoon. Steve emailed me a few pictures of the girls last night and Kami wanted me to share them with you.. So here are a few pictures of my beautiful nieces... Now granted I've never met them in person but I think I can tell them apart.. lol

Samantha and Mia are here!!!!!

Sorry you all have been waiting all day. I'm Amy one of Kami's friends and she wanted me to let you all know that everyone is healthy and doing great. Baby A Samantha Haley was born at 8:43am and Baby B Mia Noelle was born at 8:45am both weighing in at 6lbs 7oz. They are so cute and doing well. Kami is exhausted but doing good. She said that she will post pictures tomorrow of the girls. You are going to fall in love with them. They are so precious. I'm a very proud Auntie at this moment..

Kami- I just want you to know that I adore you and cherish our friendship more than you will ever know. I'm so blessed to have someone like you in my life. You did a great job carrying those girls for 38 weeks and I'm so proud of you!!! I love you!!!!

2 Days!!!

I feel a little better today. Thank you ladies :)

I was looking around the house today and honestly, it doesn't look bad at all. I must of been having anxiety again last night. LOL The only thing that needs to be done is a quick sweep and mop. I did the dishes and a load of laundry and it already looks better. I'm just freaking out about everyone else seeing my home and frankly, you are all right. It shouldn't matter about my home and the people that come will help if I need it. The main focus is the babies. And they are going to be here in 42 hours!!! 42 HOURS!!! I am so excited. Still scared of the c section but I'm sure I'll be ok. I have God with me every step of the way.

I am sitting here looking at my belly move all over the place. They have no room so when it happens, it actually hurts. LOL But that is the one thing I will miss about being pregnant. Feeling them move. I can honestly say I am so glad I will not be pregnant anymore. It has been a rough journey but it will all be worth it in two days. There are a lot of women who love being pregnant. I am not one of them. It's so hard to say that when it took me so long to conceive them. But the prize is at the end and if I have to endure pain for 38 straight weeks to get my prize, I will do that. I would do anything for my girls. They are my everything. I am just looking forward to being able to move and wear my regular clothes and finally not being asked how far along I am. That was starting to get really old. I just want to be back to normal. LOL With my babes in my arms of course.

I'm going to take it easy for the rest of the day and tomorrow will be the day I repack my hospital bag and put the car seats in. That is the part that I can not wait to do!! Yay!

I hope everyone is having a lovely day!

So here is my question all. I would love everyone to answer that have had a child. I need as much help as I can get.

1. What do I take to the hospital?
2. Tell me what to expect during and after my c section?

3 days and I am not ready!!!!

Seriously!!! I'm not ready!!! Can I have a few more weeks? I look around the house and I feel like I need to scrub it again. UGH!!! Why can't my family just clean up after themselves?? All I want to do is sleep the weekend away and I still feel like there is so much to do. Just days ago I thought everything was ready. Now, after my step daughters left, I feel like I need to clean again. Goodness. I just need to chill and stop worrying about this darn condo. I'm sure the people that will be coming over will understand. I sure hope so.

3 DAYS LEFT!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

4 Days!!!!!

At this time on Monday, my babies will be 7 hours old!!! Crazy!!

I am getting so excited and anxious and nervous and scared. It is going to be here before I know it. Today is my last day at work for ten weeks!!! Yay! I get to have all that time with my baby girls. How exciting!

Tomorrow is my final OB appointment and I get to meet the pediatricians that will be taking care of my girls. I am excited to see their facility and get that out of the way.

The Christmas tree is still up. Naked, of course. So hubby will be taking care of that this weekend. I will sweep and mop the floors and vacuum and then we will make sure the hospital bag is packed appropriately, put the car seats in the car and poof! Done!!! We wait for babies!! This is just so surreal. I am going to have a panic attack!

6 days!!!!

Until I meet my babies!!! I can not believe that they will be here in less than a week. I am so excited but I have to be honest. I am really terrified. I thought I would be fine and it would come naturally but I am not so sure anymore.

What if I don't know how to be a good mommy?
What if I don't know what their cries mean?
What if I don't know how to change their diaper the right way?
What if I have a breakdown or ten?

I have so many things running through my head. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. I keep pacing the house to make sure everything is ready. I finally took the decorations off of the Christmas tree. That's right, I still have the tree up!!! That is the final thing that needs to be done to welcome the girls to their home. So, hubby will take the tree down to storage and we will finally be done. Thank God!

I know I have been begging to get the girls out now but as of this morning, I think I want to wait until next Monday. They measured them yesterday at the hospital (had to have an NST and check my blood and urine for protein, everything was fine) Baby A is 5 lbs. 12 oz. and Baby B is 6 lbs 5 oz!!!! I have a 6 pound baby in there!! How exciting is that? So, if we wait until next Monday, both babies will be well over 6 lbs and possibly, baby B will be over 7 pounds! That makes me feel so much better. Now watch, because I said this, they will come tonight! LOL

We also have my step daughters for the entire week because their mom decided to go on vacation. Well, she said it is a company paid getaway. It just happens to come at the wrong time. Don't get me wrong, I want them there with us. I just don't want to have my water break in the middle of the night and have to get all of us ready. Goodness. We'll see though. If it happens, then the whole family will be together.

So, six more days and my world will change for the better. I have tried for many years to conceive a child and God finally blessed me. Everything I fought for. All the shots, tests, pain, suffering and crying. It was all worth it. Because finally, I get to meet my little miracles. A part of me and a part of my husband. I am in awe and I seriously can't believe this is finally happening. My baby girls will be here on or before January 25th! Amazing.

Hugs,
Kami

Dear little sweet baby girls......

Mommy loves you so very much and I have had the pleasure of carrying your sweet little lives inside of me for these last 36 weeks. Mommy has been through so much to make sure you two are well taken care of. And guess what? Mommy would do it again for you. You know why? Because I love you two more that you will ever know. You are my heart, my soul, my world! Forever and ever.

I am looking forward to meeting the two of you in the next couple of weeks. I hope sooner but that will be all up to you and God. That's right, God has a lot to do with you being in my belly and why you remain in my belly. I'll teach you all about Him when you are old enough to understand. You will grow to love this man more than you know. At least, I hope. You girls are going to meet so many people who love you so much. I guess I'll share you but only for a short amount of time. I already feel overprotective and you aren't even here yet. It's insane how much I worry about you. You'll see soon enough. I promise, it will get to a point where you won't want to anymore. Ha! Just know, I will be that way because I care so deeply for the two of you. And I love you two so very much.

Your Daddy is something else. Wait until you meet him. He is a character and I will bet you a lot of money that he will get on your nerves from tickling you so much. Don't even ask him to stop because he won't. He is a child locked in a man's body. But let me let you in on a little secret. Your Daddy is so in love with you and he is such a wonderful Daddy to your sisters. He is going to be so good to you. I'll have to fight him to be able to hold you girls. At least we both get one to hold. We'll just have to switch so we can both get quality time with the both of you. That is very important to the both of us.

Speaking of your sisters. You have two very excited seven year old sisters awaiting your arrival. And guess what??? They are twins too!!! You guys will have a lot in common. They can't wait to dress you, feed you and to love on you. They wanted to change your diapers too but I think they are starting to back away from that since I have been telling them horror stories about diaper disasters. Maybe I should of left that one out. You will love them. They already love you so much.

Ah yes, your Grandma's and Grandpa's. Let me start with your Grandma's. Your Mommy's Mom (Grandma D) is a nut case. She is crazy as all get out but she is a fantastic woman. She is a ball of energy who loves to have a lot of fun. She came with me the day you were transferred into my body. She held my hand while I prayed to God for you. We cried together and shared a very special moment with the two of you. Even though you weren't exactly attached to mommy at the time. The four of us were together. It was amazing. Your Grandma D talks to you every time she sees your mommy. I'm sure you'll know her voice when you see her for the first time. She can't wait to meet you. You are her first grandchildren.

Then we have Grandma M. (Nana) This is Daddy's mom. She is a wonderful woman who also has a lot of energy. Your Daddy calls her a mule because she never stops! You will be grandchildren number 10 and 11 for her so she knows what it is like to be a Grandma. She likes to take the grand kids swimming and to the playground and she also has sleepovers so you girls will have a lot of fun with her. She is very down to earth and very kind. She is also so excited to meet you two. She emails me to check up on me all the time to see where you are. I keep telling her that you two are comfortable. She says I am amazing for carrying you two this far. I am so glad I did. Now you girls will be nice and healthy. God answers prayers.

Grandpa D. is Mommy's daddy. He is a very nice man. You will really like him. He is also a very busy man right now with his new business. He has asked mommy to have you two on either a Monday or Tuesday. We should probably listen to Grandpa D or else you may not get to meet him right away and that makes mommy sad. Of course, Grandpa D will come to see you two sweet little baby girls whatever day I have you. He was just joking. He better be! Ha! He keeps telling Mommy that I have swallowed a basketball and his eyes get really big when he sees Mommy's tummy. It is quite comical really. We went over to his and Grandma D's house for Thanksgiving and you kicked him when he touched my belly. Mommy almost had an accident because she was laughing so hard at Grandpa's reaction. He squirmed from the feeling because it has been so long since he has had a baby. You will love him. He can't wait to meet you.

Then there's Grandpa M. (Papa) What a sweet and quiet man. He just sits back and watches all the gran kids. They all love him so much. He is so friendly. You will have to talk loud when you speak to him because he can't hear very well. I think Daddy is starting to get ears just like him because he doesn't listen to Mommy either. I think he does that on purpose though. Your Papa probably does too. He tunes your Nana out. Ha! He is a retired pastor and he loves God so much too. Any questions you have about God, you can go to him or your Daddy since Daddy studied the bible in college too. Papa likes to tickle too so be careful. He gets you when you are not looking. He is just as excited as your other Grandpa and Grandma's. In fact, we all are!!! See how much you are loved???

We can't forget your Aunts and Uncles. Let's start with Mommy's brothers since that is who you will see most of the time. You will meet Uncle C. He is 15 years old and full of energy. He is a musician so if you want to learn how to play an instrument, you can have him teach you. He is an amazing guitar player and has taught himself a lot of the time. He can also play the piano like your Grandma D. Mommy sings at church so you will be surrounded by music. I'm sure you will love music just as much. Uncle C. always touches Mommy's tummy and asks so many questions about you girls. He can't wait to meet you.

Mommy also has a 19 year old brother. His name is Uncle J. He works really hard with your Grandpa D. at his business. He is very quiet but is a very nice person. He likes to touch Mommy's belly all the time too so all those pokes you feel are your Uncles. Uncle J. is waiting for your arrival so he can come over our house all the time with Uncle C. to see you girls. They like to stay the night and watch movies with us but something is telling me that might not happen for a while because they may be up all night with the two of you. And that means two grumpy teenagers in Mommy's house. No thank you! I've already been there. Of course, if they still want to, Mommy will always let them. They will have to enter at their own risk! LOL I may have to put them on diaper duty. Hey, I changed their diapers many times! It's only fair!!

Daddy has two sisters and one brother. You have Aunt H, Aunt K and Uncle S. They all live further away so you won't get to see them as much. Aunt H lives over an hour away and is very busy taking care of her family so we will see her on special occasions at Nana's and Papa's house. Aunt K lives in Canada and Uncle S lives in New York. I know that they are all coming to see you once you arrive. How exciting! They are all nice people too and you will love them and your cousins. You will have 7 cousins to play with on Daddy's side. They all get together and have loads of fun. It's a crazy house at Nana and Papa's so be prepared. Of course, some of them will be a lot older once you girls can play but I am sure they will take good care of you. How fun is that???

You also have two Great Grandma's and a Great Grandpa. They are so excited to meet you as well. They all call to check in on mommy from time to time to see where you girls are. I always have to tell them, I don't think they are coming. They are comfortable. They find that funny. Mommy, of course, doesn't. Ha!

Speaking of comfortable. You girls are quite snug in there and don't have much room. How about you come out to meet your entire family. We are all waiting so patiently for you. Of course, Mommy and Daddy aren't because we are so very excited to meet you two. I have carried you for almost 37 weeks. We have had good times and bad times. Of course, the good times outweigh the bad times. Mommy getting sick and in pain is worth every minute of it though. I promise. I will miss your sweet little kicks and all the belly rubs. But I think I will be happier when you are in my arms. The clock is ticking slowly girls. I have a count down for January 26th. Just 12 short days away. That is the day you are scheduled to make your appearance. I get emotional just thinking about it. To know that in less than two weeks, I will have two beautiful human beings in my life created by Mommy, Daddy and God. It is the most amazing and surreal feeling I have ever felt in my entire life. I can't even explain it.

I have felt so broken and I always felt like a piece of me was missing. Not anymore girls. You are the missing pieces and soon, my heart will be whole.

I love you two with everything I have.

Love,
Mommy

Poop on a stick!

That would be gross actually! LOL

I am back. It's a no go. These girls are comfortable. Their mommy, not so much! Ha! I am now 70% effaced so that's good. The best news was that both girls are around 5 pounds 12 ounces!!! I've got some nice sized babies!!! With lots of hair!! Yay!

So, onto Wednesday's NST. I'm not banking on anything though. I'll get sent home again. I have a feeling these girls are hanging on until my scheduled c section. At least I know they will be big and healthy if they do.

Oh, I am also blessed with strep B!!! Aren't I the lucky one????

Hugs,
Kami

Just in case

I have an OB appointment this morning to measure the babies. I was seen on Friday and I was effaced 50-60% so I am hoping something is going on when they check me again today. The last two nights I lost A LOT of mucous plug so maybe there will be a nice surprise for me this morning. Crossing my fingers. I wanted to post this just in case I do have a nice surprise and they admit me to have the girls. If you do not hear from me again today, that is what happened. Of course, if I post the girls stats, then I am still trucking along. At 36 weeks!!!! AMAZING!

God is so good!!!!

We have a change.....

In my cervix that is!!!

TMI***TMI*** I have been having a lot of lower back pain along with stomach pains this last week. Oh, I can't forget to mention the nasty crapola that shows up on my toilet paper. so I called the OB and left a message on the nurses line to let them know what I have been feeling. She called me back and instead of sending me to L&D, she told me to come in this morning. I went in not expecting anything but another uneventful appointment but I was actually pleasantly surprised.

He checked my cervix and I am 50-60% effaced/0 dilation/-2 station. Not bad! At least something is happening. When I went in on Monday, there was no effacement at all so that is a BIG jump in four days. Yay!

He did say that the crapola on my toilet paper is my mucus plug! So I have been losing it all week! Double yay!

He also told me that he doesn't think I will make it to our scheduled c section on January 26th. I sure hope we don't! I really don't want to be pregnant at 38 1/2 weeks with twins. I will do it for my babies but do I have to??? LOL

So, I go back in on Monday morning to have an ultrasound to measure how big they are. I just hope something else fun happens to get me closer to having these precious girls. I just want them healthy and that is all that matters.

One step closer to meeting my babies!!!!

Love,
Kami

Any day now.....

I had my OB appointment on Monday and my NST today and both nurses and doctors were so surprised that I am still pregnant. LOL

The OB said it could be any day now and the average twins are born between 36-37 weeks. I am so proud that I made it this far and the fact that I may make it to 36 weeks is absolutely amazing! The best thing is that I know my girls are going to be big and healthy.

The last few days have also been very emotional. It is so funny. I think it is the hormones. One minute I am so ready to have my little girls in my arms and the next minute I am overwhelmed with emotion because my journey of IF (infertility) and pregnancy is almost over. You see, hubby is a lot older than me so this will be the only children I carry. Unless God has other plans of course but if it were up to us, they are the only children I'll have. My three embryo's that remain are being donated next month to a couple that is in need of them. I have this overwhelming feeling that God blessed me with my baby girls and gave me the three remaining embryo's to help someone else in need. I look at it as paying it forward. I am really excited about their journey and can't wait to see what the future holds for them. :)

So, back on the subject. I have been teary eyed when songs come on knowing that I am about to be a mommy to two beautiful babies. Two! God has heard my prayers and He blessed hubby and I. I am in awe and I am so thankful and feel like I am floating on cloud nine. It is so surreal.

I am also scared because I have never had to care for an infant 24/7. I am scared I won't know what to do. I want to be the best mommy in the world and I will do everything in my power to make sure that happens. Sure, hubby and I are going to run into some problems and things aren't going to be perfect but I know we can do it! I'm just a little frightened.

I am also a little frightened about the recovery after my c-section. I'm not worried about the actual surgery or the epidural (spinal). I don't care how I have them, I just want them out safe and healthy. I am more worried about the pain after the surgery. What am I going to expect? Is it horrible? Am I going to lay in my bed and cry like a baby while I have two beautiful infant daughters in the other room. I want to be there 100% for them. I don't want to be drugged up because of the pain. I have so many things floating around in my head. Good grief!

So, there you have it. I just wrote a pointless post that makes no sense at all. I just wanted to document how I am feeling at this moment. Knowing that I will be a mommy in less than three weeks. I came so far and endured so much pain and suffering. But it worked out in the end. God is so good! Praise be to Him!

Hugs,
Kami

Happy New Year!!!!

I hope all of you had a wonderful night! We went to dinner and then came home to watch the ball drop. It was a nice night. Very low key. Just the way I like it!!!

I am feeling a bit better. Thank you all so much for helping me through this. It has been a long and hard journey but very much worth it. I am getting so close I can smell it!! LOL I just can't wait to see their little faces. Who are they going to look like? How big are they going to be? Will they be good babies? And so on. I am just so excited!

I am now being seen twice a week. Once at my OB and once at the hospital to have my NST's done. I was almost admitted to the hospital on Wednesday because baby B's heart rate wasn't doing what it was supposed to. I finally sipped some orange juice and she passed the test before it was too late. My blood pressure is getting higher and higher but not above the "bad blood pressure". I only hit that twice so far. I am also swelling pretty bad now but I am also back to work so that is probably why. So, I am pretty sure the girls will be here soon.

I will be 35 weeks tomorrow which is absolutely amazing. I can't believe we made it this far. Mu husband is in awe at how far we have come because of his last pregnancy. His last one was so traumatic so every pound the girls gain, he gets more and more excited! I was told at the hospital last Saturday that they were each weighing in around five pounds. I just can't believe that! 5 pounds!!! Ahhh!!! Now, if I can get past another few weeks, I have a good feeling I'll have six pound babies. That is what I am aiming for. I know, one post says I'm done, one post says I want to wait. The truth is, I NEED to wait for the health of my children. I don't care how much pain I have to go through, I want to bring my girls home. So, I'll have to endure the pain. I would do anything for them.

Oh, I guess my 24 hour urine was fine too. They never called me and they said if they don't call it means good news. So, no news is good news. I have an appointment on Monday. I will make sure to ask.

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years night. I will be posting my belly picture tomorrow. It is getting so big!!! LOL Well, I guess if you were holding ten pounds of baby, you would be huge too. Ha!

Have a wonderful day!
