Swaddle update

So, the last two nights have been.......ummmmm.... AMAZING!!!!!

I started with one arm out and let me tell you. My girls are HAPPIER! What?

Samantha sleeps through the night now. Can you believe that?? She was the one that would get up and fuss her head off. This whole time I thought it was because she wanted her pacifier. I believe she was trying to tell me to get her out of the Woombie.

Mia woke at 2 in the morning the first night. I let her cry (fuss) for five minutes after I checked on her and she was out again. She woke again at 4 and that's when I fed them. She may need to get used to the weaning a little bit. Not much though because last night, they both slept a ten hour stretch. Holy Cow!!! Momma got some sleep. Is there such a thing as getting too much sleep?? I am exhausted this morning. You think I would be ready to go!! I am, just to my bed... LOL

So, the weaning is going well. They are so cute with their one little arm sticking out. The first night they were flinging it all over the place. It was cracking me up. If they did that last night, I didn't hear it. I am so blessed to have great sleepers. Thank you God!

As for thanking God, I noticed I haven't done that on my blog in a while. That makes me sad. I need to praise Him and thank Him every single day!! He gave me the gift of life. He chose me to be Sam and Mia's mommy and what a blessing that is. I get so caught up in my life that I don't take a moment to sit down and talk to Him. I know He knows how I feel but I like to have that connection.

Lord, thank You for the many blessings You have blessed me with. The gift of life is one and I am truly in debt to You for the rest of my life. Lord, please bless the mommies in waiting that read my blog today or in the next few days. They deserve this gift just as much as me. Some, even more! Lord, please wrap Your arms around them and hold them during this difficult journey. Give them peace and strength to get through the tough moments and let them know that You are there every step of the way. Be it good or bad. Lord, show them Your love and kindness as they take each shot, each pill, each night. They need You so much right now. They need to know that they are loved and there is a plan for them. All of them. Lord, please hear my prayers today and always. In Jesus name, Amen.

Praise be to God ladies!!! He works true miracles. Keep the faith and know you all are loved so much during this journey. I pray for every single one of you every day. You all are in my thoughts every single day.

Mother's Day is approaching this weekend and I want to end this post by saying Happy Mother's Day to every single one of you. To the mommies, mommies to be and mommies in waiting.

Love,

Kami

To swaddle or not to swaddle.....

I have been swaddling the girls since birth. Mia is starting to turn sideways a bit when laying on the floor. I am nervous that she will start rolling soon and that is a big problem if swaddled. I would like to quit cold turkey but I have a feeling that my little loves will make their night and mine quite miserable. I even thought about putting one arm out for a few days. Or maybe just wrapping them loosely and letting them bust out of it in the middle of the night. That way I can see if they wake up and put themselves back to sleep. I get a good night (7-9 hours) from them about twice a month. The other nights are still good at 5-6 hours and are at the norm. I'm not doing this to try to make them sleep longer, but to be comfortable and sleep better. My worst fear is SIDS and I feel like I am causing more harm if they roll and can't stop it because they are swaddled. My world would come crashing down if something were to happen to them. I need to protect my baby girls.

So, this is my dilemma. Do I stop it now or do I keep going because it is working? I honestly feel like transitioning them now before they rely on it to sleep. I'm sure they are already there but it's easier breaking that habit now since they are so young.

The pacifier and Sammy is next. That girl cracks me up with that pacifier. That's going to be a hard one. She has a set of lungs on her. Mia on the other hand HATES her pacifier and will scream if you put it in her mouth. At least I only have one to worry about. LOL

Other than that, everything is going great. The girls are starting to coo and they smile all the time now. As soon as I enter a room, they are smiling. What a great feeling. I actually broke down and cried the other night because the feeling was so overwhelming. I have heard a few giggles out of them. More Sammy than Mia. Mia has found her voice and screeches. The kids at daycare call her squeaky. Too funny. She is always making noises.

We are on our way to four months and I am in disbelief! I can't believe my babies are growing so fast. It makes me sad. I secretly hope that God blesses me with one more. If it is meant to be, it will be. Hubby thinks otherwise. LOL He's done! We'll see what God's plans are. No IVF's, no IUI's, nada. If it happens, it will be natural. I am going to need a miracle for that!! LOL

I hope everyone is well. Have a wonderful day!

My little stinkers are getting so big.

Between 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

I have been peed on, pooped on, spit up on, hair grabbed, screamed in ear and spit up on again x10. I absolutely LOVE my life. Now I need to go and take a shower. LOL

OH, and my girls slept through the whole night last night! 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Sweet!
