Before I Was A Mom.......

My Grandma sent this email today. I never can find the right words to say sometimes. This is exactly how I feel.....

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body..
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom
What a blessing....

Mother In Law's Birthday Party

Last weekend we went to my mother and father in law's house for a surprise birthday party for my mother in law. It was nice and the cake was great. Here are a few pictures of the munchkins and mommy! Daddy was the photographer so there were no pictures of him. Sorry daddy!

This pictures is from the doctors office the other day. Samantha and Mia were all smiles. It was the cutest thing. Sammy had a follow up appointment for her head and it is decided that she will need a helmet. We go tomorrow to get her scanned for one. Poor baby girl. The doctor said she will have it for at least three months. I just hope she gets used to it and fast! Man I love this little girl.

Here's another random picture that I absolutely love. Mia is so alert in this picture. This was after a walk outside. The same walk as the picture in my header. Right after she woke up. Mia is now on soy formula because her belly is so sensitive. She is full of gas and will scream at times. It breaks my heart. We also have her on liquid zantac and milicon drops. I hope she grows out of it and soon. I just want my babies to be happy. Man, I love this little one so much too!

So much love and another prayer request please.....

I just want to tell you all how much I adore you. I started to respond to everyone's emails but I got so many I can't keep up!!! I honestly never thought I would have so many who wanted to keep following my precious family. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I know I said Saturday but our weekend was crazy busy. I'll start the process tomorrow! Thank you again everyone. I have a special place in my heart for every single one of you. You all will get an invite!

Also, I want to close this public blog with a special prayer request. As you all know, Tammy and Mark had their transfer a week ago Friday. If you have been to her blog, then you know that her pee tests were negative this morning. She had her beta today but has to wait until tomorrow to get the results. No matter what news she gets tomorrow, please pray for her and Mark. Pray for their strength and pray for the power to get through any bad news they get. Pray that God will stand by their sides and hold them up when they feel like they are going to fall. I know it isn't set in stone. I just want to make sure there are plenty of prayers being said tonight and tomorrow. They need as many as they can get.

Tammy and Mark,

Steve and I are so happy that you two were the recipients of our precious embryo's. Thank you for everything you have done for our family and for taking such great care of hazelnut, lugnut and peanut. I have always felt a strong connection to you and love you both with all my heart. I will pray for the both of you tonight. God is with you every step of the way. You two are absolutely wonderful and amazing! I wish I could hug you both right now. I wish I were there by your side. Please know that Steve and I are here for you guys always and forever. No matter what happens, God has His plans for you guys. I hope you get great news tomorrow. Love to you both!!!

Love,
Steve and Kami

Blogger friends

Yesterday was a very emotional and fantastic day. I got to meet Mark and Tammy and Megan, Mason and her hubby.

We had a great time just sitting around talking. I haven't enjoyed myself like that in a long time. Thanks guys!!

We met at Tammy's hotel and went to Panera Bread for lunch. We sat there and talked for three hours! We played pass the baby around. The babies didn't mind one bit! LOL

Tammy and her mom made the prettiest blankets for my girls. You'll see them in the last couple pictures. They have little cows on them. They are precious. It made me cry. I'm a sucker for handmade things. I keep those closest to my heart. Thank you mom and Tammy!!

I'm not going to spill the details of Tammy's transfer. I'll let her do that when she is ready. Keep an eye on her blog. She will be updating soon!!!

Megan made a necklace for Tammy and I. This is very symbolic. It represents the three embryo's Steve and I created with love and gave to Mark and Tammy to grow and raise with love. It is so beautiful and I will also hold this close to my heart. Here is a picture.

Thank you guys for the beautiful gifts and the long lasting friendships. May God bless you and your families. Love you guys!

A whole lot of cuteness!

These were taken today. My mother in law sends me pictures every time she watches them. It's what gets me through my day!

I just want to eat these two little stinkers up.....

What a Good Friday it is

Good Friday, also known as Holy Friday, Black Friday, Great Friday, is a holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death. The holiday is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday, and often coincides with the Jewish observance of Passover.

May your weekend be filled with the power of Jesus Christ and His love.

Dear sweet sweet dream feed.......

How do I love you? Let me count the ways!!!

See that little girl on the left? Miss Mia slept through the entire night because of our "power feed" as Steve would put it. LOL Miss Sammy got up a few times last night and I had to wake them both this morning to feed them before I dropped them off to my mother in law.

What is a dream feed you ask? Well, let me tell you!!!

In the first month and a half, A typical night in our home looked something like this:

6pm-6:30pm- Home from work/feed the babes
7:30pm-8pm- Babes start their nightly meltdown. (This is not pretty)
9pm-9:30pm- Attempt to feed babes but they aren't having it at this point. Steve and I are pulling our hair out because of the none stop screaming.
10pm- Babes pass out in our arms and off to bed!
babes wake a few times in the night.

Then I realized they were extremely tired after their 6:30pm feeding. They also eat more at night I noticed. So, I changed it up a bit. The last couple of weeks looked something like this:

6pm-6:30pm- Home from work/feed babes
8pm- Feed babes again right before meltdown. They pass out, off to bed.
2am- Feed babes
5am- Feed babes
7am- Take babes to caregiver

THEN...... I got this wonderful email from this wonderful woman I work with who told me about the dream feed. Steve and I said what the heck and tried it out last night. This is what last night looked like:

7:00pm- Home from work/feed babes
7:30pm- Babes pass out, off to bed
(At this time, mommy takes a shower, gets clothes for the next morning, makes dinner, drinks a Mikes Hard Lemonade, watches Dancing With the Stars AND American Idol. Do you see where I am going with this???? I got a lot done!!!)
10:30pm- Feed babes the "power feed" per daddy.
10:45pm- Babes back down to sleep
2:30am- Sam wakes/mommy sticks paci in mouth
3:00am- Sam wakes/mommy sticks paci in mouth
3:45am- Sam wakes/mommy pushes daddy out of bed to feed babies. LOL Mia wouldn't wake up for her feed.
6:30am- Wake babies to feed before taking to mother in law.

MIA SLEEPS THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!

SOOO, you can see the dream feed worked wonders for Mia last night! I think I need to give Samantha another ounce or two because she was still sucking away when her bottle was gone. Maybe that will help her sleep longer. We'll find out tonight!

Now, you are asking what a dream feed is, here is the website I found:

What a lifesaver!!!! I hope it happens again tonight!!!

Gosh, I just LOVE being a mommy!!! I love my girls so much!!!
